Who gets dry skin?
Anyone can develop dry skin! Your skin can be naturally quite dry due to underactive sebaceous glands or you can develop dry skin from external triggers such as hot weather, dry weather conditions and even certain chemicals. Dry skin can be difficult to manage as some skincare products can only further irritate the skin, this is why it is so important to recognize dry skin and even more importantly what to do about it!

Tips for dry skin

-Use warm rather than hot water

-Slather on that moisturizer!

-Pat your skin dry gently with a towel

-Minimize your use of soaps

-Incorporate hydrating face masks to your weekly regime!

AM

1. Cleanse

With dry skin it’s best to opt for an oil or cream based cleanser. However, if you’re skin is really dry you can even skip this and just use lukewarm water to wash your face first thing in the morning.

2. Toner

Use a toner with moisturizing ingredients like Hyaluronic acid!

3. Serum

Use a day serum that also focuses on moisturizing, most day serums contain ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or vitamin C!

4. Moisturize

Don’t skip the moisturizer, slater all that goodness on and use a heavy hydrating cream

5. SPF

Never forget the SPF!

PM

1. Cleanse

At night you can use the same oil or cream based cleanser as you did in the morning, you can also add an extra step and remove your make up with an oil-based make up remover before cleansing!

2. Toner

Treat your skin at night with the same toner as mentioned in the morning routine

3. Night Serum

Choose a night serum that focuses on repairing the skin’s surface

4. Moisturizer

Don’t forget the moisturizer!

5. Facial Oil

Face oils can help with moisture retention and help boost your moisturizer hydrating efforts

6. Night Cream

Night creams are essentially a moisturizer that is too heavy to wear during the day, but go wild with this one in the evening. These creams have been especially made to make the most of your skin’s natural night time rhythm of regenerating your skin.
